Does a glass of wine tempt you? Anduma Vinbar serves wines for all tastes – in an easygoing atmosphere. Here, you will be expertly guided by the bar’s host, who will also serve Nordic tapas with Danish cheeses and cold cuts. A few minutes’ walk away, you’ll find ToRVEhallerne where skilled bartenders are ready to offer delectable drinks at their Gin Bar. You will also find SMWS, where they serve high-quality whiskey. No.14 Vinbar, which is a wine bar located in the authentic Smidtske Gård, offers exquisite tapas and wines to match.

The Deluxe Trip

Taste seasonal produce and local specialties at the no-waste café Onkel A. Here, nothing goes to waste. Dishes are stricken from the menu when sold out, so book a table well in advance or arrive early. Their brunch and open-faced sandwiches are fabled and a favourite with locals. You can also taste Danish whiskey – from the village of Farre. Here, at the Fary Lochan distillery, nature plays an important role since the whiskey is smoked using local stinging nettles. Book a tasting tour and enjoy a unique experience. While in the area, drop by Aalbæk Specialiteter (Aalbæk Slagteren), whose rib steaks are famed nationwide and draw long lines throughout the summer. Here, you can try local meats from the river valley of Vejle Ådal.

At Vanilla Chocolatier & Konditori you can learn to make Danish cream puffs and other sweet treats – and maybe taste a few of them along the way. From there you can walk up the pedestrian street to Anduma Vinbar before heading to Børkop Vandmølle or to Munkebjerg Hotel for a romantic dinner in either the old watermill or with views of the beech forests and the meandering Vejle Inlet from Restaurant TreeTop.
